What better way to start a day of wonderful Jazz and Blues than shaking out the overnight cobwebs with a professionally run Lindy Hop experience.
There will be an exhibition dance followed by an audience 'get up and dance' session. Whether your a total novice or experienced professional, it a great way to start the day.
Only two requirements; pre-register for free and be prepared to have fun.
Ever wanted to learn to dance?
Lindy Hop is a partner social dance that originated from the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem across the 1920s and 30s. With its roots based in jazz dance, tap, and Charleston, Lindy Hop is the cornerstone of swing dancing. A cultural phenomenon of its time, it played a key role in breaking segregation across America.
Jason has over 20 years experience dancing and teaching Lindy hop. He has performed both on stage and in film. He is a UK open Lindy Hop champion in the UK and had consistent success across competitions including 1st place at the advanced mix and match competition in Greece (2026). His partner, Robyn, has roots in theatre. She can often be found in London’s top drama schools inspiring creativity in the next generation of actors. Together they provide strong fundamentals with musicality, connection and creative spark. One thing that is never missing from their lessons is a sense of fun.
You do not need a partner to learn, just a big smile and the willingness to have a go.
Think energetic, playful improvisation mixed with taught dance steps and a whole lot of community!
